Context: Volkswagen has partnered with eBike maker N+ to launch an officially licensed eBike, available with an optional pair of smartglasses designed to enhance rider safety. The eBike, available in Sport and Crossover models, features various smart devices, including a radar-activated rear-view camera system and integrated LED lights. The smartglasses, weighing 47 grams with an eight-hour battery life, display vital information, including blind spot alerts and navigation prompts.

- The VW eBike features a Smart View system, a radar-activated rear-view camera system with blind spot monitoring, enabled by an HD rear-facing camera, which displays general data including speed, distance ridden, tripometer, battery charge level, and remaining charge.
- The optional smartglasses, priced at $500, have a Sony MicroOLED display with a 640 x 640 pixel resolution, and use eye-tracking to activate, displaying blind spot alerts, navigation prompts, and exercise data, while connecting to Google Maps and syncing with Wear OS and Apple’s Watch OS.
